What type of ambiance you have created at the Pooja Malhotra Kailash Colony store?

How did you end up being a designer?
Coming from an artistic background of a Trained Professional Singer and Dancer and following my creative instincts all my life,i always felt a constant need to explore new creative fields. I believe that an Artist’s creative expression can be expressed in any form of art, be it performing or visual like fashion and design…
Fashion gave me the opportunity to express my inner self in the form of words, images, colors and silhouettes.
What is the favorite part of being a fashion designer?
Apart from the love for colors, silhouettes and fabrics, the most amazing part of being a fashion designer is that you get to dress up people of different physical make-up who want to indulge…
The greatest satisfaction is the trust of our clients and patrons and to see the smile on their faces when they look great in our clothes.
Which designers have been the biggest influences on you?
I really love the work Elie Saab does.I think he creates magic on the ramp. Closer home I think Gaurav Gupta is fantastic with his creativity.
What aspects of the fashion industry would you like to change?
With different changing trends all over the world, the fashion industry also needs a little bit of tweaking from time to time. One of the things especially with regard to the Indian fashion industry which needs a change is the encouragement to the other aspects of fashion.
Fashion as an art form and as an industry involves a lot of other aspects other than design and creativity. It’s a process which also involves aspects like fashion merchandising, textiles design, fashion journalism etc. We need to boost all these as full-time well paid careers for the upcoming generations. Though things have improved, but a lot still needs to be done.
