In a small talk with KahaJaun, Anshul the founder and owner of Label Ansul Z Puri gave insights about his brand.

How would you describe your Label Anshul Z Puri (AZP)?

AZP is built on ideals of simplistic elegance to revolutionize. Our constant notion is to build a stable future for Indian fashion by mining the age-old Indian craftsmanship and blending it with western silhouettes. We design for a discerning individual who seeks out a life filled with elegance, beauty and lives a life beyond the ordinary.

What type of Collection do you have?

At our Rajouri Garden Anshul Z Puri(AZP) store we have 3 categories of collection:

Pret – The range includes daily wear outfits such as cotton tunics, cotton palazzos, and printed satin fabric.
Luxury Pret – Includes semi-formals or lightly embroidered gowns, jumpsuits, and suits with the modern cut and light ethnic or modern touch embroideries.
Diffusion wear – Includes modern age cut lehengas, a mix of Altair gowns and ethnic Indian cuts and silhouette.

What type of ambiance you have created at your store?

Our present space is a basic designed pop up space with a beautifully curated collection.

How did you end up being a designer?

In 12th grade my cousin’s sister introduced me to the world of fashion I was spellbound by the energy and being creative in art since childhood I connected very well to this field as it gave me wings to fly and experiment. I pursued a post-graduation 2-year certification in fashion merchandising from pearl academy in Delhi followed by a decent work experience of working with 2 Luxury retail brands selling exclusive high-end Pakistani ensembles as a brand manager. After my stint as a brand manager, I decided to chase my dream of becoming a fashion designer and start my own label under the banner Anshul Z Puri in the year 2017

What is the favorite part of being a fashion designer?

A person living and feeling beautiful in your dream, we dream of creating art and bring it to life which is further adorned by people is such a beautiful feeling.

Which designers have been the biggest influences on you?

Coco Chanel has been the biggest inspiration her never give up attitude and being adventurous as a designer introducing the use of menswear fabric in constructing women wear apparel.

Khadijah Shah | Elan; a much-celebrated & famous Pakistani designer runs multiple clothing brands, I have followed her since I was working with PFDC in the year 2012. Her design sense is quite a niche and classy; she was the best selling label at PFDC Delhi. Catering all sections of the market from a digitally printed pret tunic to a heavy embellished bridal is her forte.

What aspects of the fashion industry would you like to change?

The fashion industry is itself so vast and flourished I don’t want any change in it, the industry has the best of best working to enlighten it with their work.
