Shangri-La Eros New Delhi is set to delight culinary enthusiasts with an exclusive three-day event at its acclaimed Shang Palace, showcasing the celebrated Hutong Dubai from September 13 to 15, 2024. This event marks Hutong’s highly anticipated India debut, bringing its renowned modern Northern Chinese cuisine to the 39th Shang Palace in the world.
Hutong, which debuted in Hong Kong in 2003, swiftly earned a Michelin star, making history as the first Chinese restaurant in the city to receive this prestigious accolade. Renowned for its innovative approach to traditional Northern Chinese cuisine, Hutong has since expanded its global footprint with locations in London, New York, Miami, and Dubai. The Dubai branch, celebrated for its unique fusion of Shanghainese and Sichuan flavors, will take center stage at this exclusive showcase at Shang Palace.
The event promises to be a highlight for food lovers, offering a sensory experience that merges Hutong’s contemporary culinary artistry with Shang Palace’s sophisticated ambiance. Guests will be treated to a menu that draws inspiration from Sichuan’s bold spices and Beijing’s refined techniques, presenting a feast that balances classic flavors with a modern twist.
Abhishek Sadhoo, General Manager of Shangri-La Eros New Delhi, expressed his excitement about the event, saying, “We are thrilled to welcome Hutong Dubai to Shang Palace for this exclusive three-day showcase. This collaboration brings together the finest elements of Northern Chinese cuisine, merging timeless traditions with contemporary flair. Our goal is to provide guests with an exceptional dining experience that embodies the pinnacle of culinary luxury and innovation.”
During the event, diners can choose from a meticulously crafted à la carte menu or a specially curated set menu, available for both lunch and dinner. The à la carte options feature a range of vibrant appetizers, such as Seared Scallops with Spicy Dongbei Salad and Black Diamond, a deep-fried charcoal tofu with black truffle sauce. Signature dishes like the Red Lantern, a deep-fried spiced soft-shell crab, and Sichuan Lamb Shank with a spiced crust are also on offer, alongside vegetarian options like Mapo Tofu and Sanchen Spiced King Oyster Mushrooms. To complete the meal, guests can indulge in decadent desserts like the Mala, a spicy chocolate mousse with sour plum sorbet.
For those seeking a more curated experience, three expertly designed set menus are available. The signature non-vegetarian menu offers a refined exploration of Hutong’s culinary excellence, while the legacy non-vegetarian menu features a five-course selection of the restaurant’s star dishes. A legacy vegetarian menu is also available, highlighting a harmonious selection of Hutong’s finest offerings. Set menus are priced from INR 10,000 per person.
The beverage menu is equally enticing, featuring Hutong specials like Rose’s Secret, a passion fruit-infused gin cocktail, and the Aurora, made with cucumber-infused gin, lemongrass syrup, and apple juice. Shang Palace’s signature cocktails include Dounan Blossoms, hibiscus-infused tequila with green apple juice, and Yuan Xiao Bloom, a mix of vodka, cranberry, lime, elderflower, lavender, grapefruit, and active charcoal. These cocktails start from INR 2,000 plus taxes.
