Legendary Theatre Show ‘RAM’ Returns to Delhi This Navratri

Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra (SBKK), a cornerstone of Indian classical arts, proudly presents the return of its legendary theatre show ‘RAM’ this Sharadiya Navratri, from 22nd September to 14th October 2025 at the SBKK Open Air Theatre, Mandi House, New Delhi.

First staged in 1957 on the commission of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, ‘RAM’ has been performed for over six decades, becoming an enduring cultural tradition for Delhi audiences and beyond. The production distills the vast Ramayana into a 2.5-hour spectacle, combining classical and folk dance forms such as Kathakali, Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Chhau, and Kathak with Hindustani music to bring the saga of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram to life.

Directed by Padma Shri Shobha Deepak Singh, with choreography by Shashidharan Nair and Rajkumar Sharma, the show continues to evolve while preserving its spiritual and artistic essence. Over the years, ‘RAM’ has travelled to 35 countries, been honoured internationally, and even featured at the inauguration of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, making it both a performance and a pilgrimage.

Padma Shri Shobha Deepak Singh highlights, “For sixty-seven years, ‘RAM’ has been a shared cultural experience that binds generations together. Each season, we strive to preserve its spiritual and artistic core while bringing fresh nuances to the stage.”
