In a small talk with KahaJaun, Ishita Gupta, the owner of the label gave insights about Vaidaan.

How would you describe your Label VAIDAAN?

We design exquisite jewels where every stone is handpicked and is embroidered on a frame entirely made of thread so that it doesn’t rust away the charm and remains Timeless. Following this thought process, we have entered the clothing market where we seek to create outfits that are classic and timeless!

Which type of audience/shoppers should definitely try the VAIDAAN collection?

Shoppers who do not shy away from experimenting and are constantly looking for something new, refreshing & unique things.

What type of Collection do you have?

In Jewellery – We strive for better with every collection, but the main focus is to come up with something that is Diverse but Versatile. We try to create a collection that can be styled with your western, Indo-western & even your Indian outfits.

In Clothing – We are trying out different things like fabric manipulations combined with our studded and embroidered jewellery frames. Till now, we have designed garments that are very classic & timeless, which can be worn in various kinds of events.

What is the price range of your designer outfits?

In jewellery – Rs 500 – Rs 15,000

In clothing. – Rs 4,000 – Rs 35,000

How did you end up being a designer?

It was a total coincidence. I initially wanted to be an artist. But then I ended up graduating in Fashion Styling. I later wanted to merge my fondness of jewellery with my degree in Styling as I believed this is something that I could be finest at first. Now that I have expanded into clothing line as well, which is my next big step, I think I can be really good at that.

What is the favourite part of being a fashion designer?

When I see everything happening that I’ve always dreamt of. The journey, people loving what I’m creating & appreciating the hard work that I & my team puts in, celebrities wearing it, getting recognition by so many of the renowned magazines and media houses and most of all, I love when I represent my brand on a Global Level. My vision was very clear from the beginning. I have always wanted to take what is traditional and cultural to us, and making it global and when I did that, I’d received immense love and exponential growth in business and repeated customers from India and Abroad. It’s a dream come true.

Which designers have been the biggest influences on you?

I have looked up to Rohit Bal & Tarun Tahiliani a lot in my high school days. I love their elegant aesthetics, the colour palette, embroidery designs. Now there are so many more designers thats are extraordinary. One of my current favourite is Zuhair Murad.
