Delhi Literature Festival 2025 to Celebrate “Voices, Visions & Verses” from May 2–4

Delhi’s cultural calendar is set to shine brighter as the 13th edition of the Delhi Literature Festival 2025 returns from May 2 to 4 at Bikaner House, Pandara Road. This year’s theme, “Delhi Writes: Voices, Visions & Verses,” will celebrate the vibrant literary and cultural heritage of the capital city while engaging in national conversations that shape modern India.

The festival will be inaugurated by Shri Gajendra S. Shekhawat, Hon’ble Union Minister for Culture & Tourism, alongside a high-profile gathering of dignitaries. Key attendees include Smt. Rekha Gupta, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi; Shri Vijender Gupta, Speaker, Delhi Vidhan Sabha; Shri Kapil Mishra, Cabinet Minister for Culture & Tourism; Shri Keshav Chandra, Chairman, NDMC; and Mr. Tim Curtis, Director & Representative, UNESCO India.

Adding political and intellectual gravitas to the event, several special sessions are planned.
Highlights include:

  • “Demography, Dialogue & Development”: A keynote session by Sushri Bansuri Swaraj, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, focusing on youth, governance, and nation-building.

  • “Flowing Through Time: Healing The Yamuna”: A fireside chat with Shri Parvesh Sahib Singh, Deputy Chief Minister, exploring ecological heritage and sustainable futures.

  • “Unscripted, Unapologetic, Unfiltered”: An unfiltered conversation with political commentator and author Dr. Anand Ranganathan.

Over the course of three days, visitors can expect sessions featuring some of India’s most distinguished authors and thinkers, including:

  • Lakshmi Murdeshwar Puri (former diplomat) presenting Swallowing the Sun

  • Amb. Abhay K with Nalanda – How It Changed The World

  • Dr. Aishwarya Pandit with Indian Renaissance: The Modi Decade

  • Ravi Shankar Etteth, Arun Anand, Pavan K. Varma, Taslima Nasrin, Mukul Kumar, and more.

Special highlights also include:

  • A Hindi poetry session titled ‘Itwaar Chhota Pad Gaya’.

  • A discussion on ‘Can We Be Strangers Again’, the national bestseller by Shrijeet Shandilya.

  • A deep dive into ‘Kumbha: The Traditionally Modern Mela’ by Nityananda Misra.

In addition, the Delhi Literature Festival Awards 2025 will recognize excellence across seven literary categories. Aspiring writers can also participate in “Writers of the New Century,” an open competition for young talent.

The festival promises more than just literature:
Visitors can browse curated selections at the Kunzum Bookstore, the festival’s official Bookstore Partner. A variety of food options from Diggin Cafe, L’Opera, Haldiram, and Havemore will be available to create a lively, interactive atmosphere.

The festival will conclude with a soulful live performance by Meenu Bakshi, presented by Renu Hussain, promising a fitting finale to three days of rich cultural engagement.
