In a small talk with KahaJaun, Label Megaan’s Owners, Ishaan Gakhar gave more information about the designer store.

How would you describe your Label Megaan?

When we thought about the label megaan it was very spontaneous to be honest we decided the name in about an hour of our drive to our office. When we actually read the meaning (After deciding the name) it meant a pearl in the ocean. Immediately we could connect with it and thought of it as a coincidence! Megaan now after completing 3 successful years actually seem like a pearl in the ocean which shines on its own without any external help/privileges.

Which type of audience/shoppers should definitely visit the Megaan Shapur Jat store?

As an owner of Megaan I was always intend to keep a collection what I would prefer to buy if I go out shopping, I’d say my taste is quite common in that matter as anyone who would like to stand out of the crowd would love carrying ensembles from Megaan.

What type of Collection do you have?

We as a multi designer outlet have a confluence of 35 designers under one roof including labels like Soniya.G (In house label) faabiana, Kalki fashion, Devika Seth. Modello Domani in footwear. We Aim to add at least 20 more making it around 50 designers under one roof.

What is the price range of your designer outfits?

The price range starts from as low as Rs. 12,000 goes upto Rs. 4,00,000.

What type of ambience you have created at the Shapurjat Store?

We Aim to give a vintage yet contemporary look in our studio we are inspired by the Mughal Empire and have antiques added from the 17th century in our studio.
We love high ceilings rustic rugs endless paintings and sculptural chandeliers in our studio giving it an awestruck look for anybody who enters the store.

How did you end up being a designer?

Willingness of doing something creative all the time and converting that into something materialistic which the world can enjoy.

What is the favourite part of being a fashion designer?

Everyday is a new learning till the day you die until you are a fashion designer. I feel learning new things everyday boosts me invest non-ending hours in business.

Which designers have been the biggest influences on you?

Designers like Sabyasachi, Anita Dogre, have redefined fashion for me I feel they are a great inspiration to our industry.

What aspects of the fashion industry would you like to change?

To Be honest I love our Indian fashion industry, I think there is no other country which has such vibrant colours when I comes to fashion and so much diversity in their designs. I don’t think there’s anything I would like to change in our industry rather I hope other country’s also adapt our fashion culture.
