Food lovers in the capital have a reason to rejoice as Shangri-La Eros New Delhi presents a culinary tribute to Old Delhi’s vibrant vegetarian cuisine. From October 17 to 19, 2024, the hotel’s renowned restaurant Tamra will host a pop-up featuring traditional delicacies, specially curated by the talented Chef Puja Bansal.
Chef Bansal, known for her passion for Indian cuisine, brings with her a wealth of experience, having participated in competitions like Rasoi Queen and Chefs of Delhi. A graduate of the Institute of Home Economics, Delhi University, her culinary expertise reflects her deep connection to the flavours of Chandni Chowk and Old Delhi.
The pop-up offers a sensory feast with signature dishes inspired by Old Delhi’s heritage. Guests will begin their journey with refreshing drinks such as Amrood ki Shikanji and Gulab Sharbat, setting the tone for an evening of authentic flavours.
The starters include crowd-pleasing bites like Kalmi Vada, Kachalu Chaat, and Aloo e Tabahi. As the meal unfolds, diners will experience the richness of Vegetarian Mughlai dishes, featuring Gravy Mangochi, Shahi Matar Badam ki Sabzi, and Mooli ke Kofte. The menu also pays homage to Bania cuisine, spotlighting delicacies such as Torai Ki Tehri and Pakodi Pulao.
To complement these main dishes, an array of traditional breads will be served, including Doodh Ki Poori and the famous Paranthe wali gali ke Paranthe. Guests can enhance their meals with sides like Kele and Meve ki Saunth and Methi ki Chutney.
The dining experience will conclude with a selection of Old Delhi-inspired desserts, including Gulab Shahi Tukda and Makhane ki Kheer, evoking nostalgia and celebrating the region’s rich culinary heritage.
This three-day event at Tamra promises to be a memorable affair, inviting families, friends, and food enthusiasts to discover hidden gems of Indian vegetarian cuisine in the heart of the capital.
